News 12 Covers “Groovin At The Grove”

Letter To The Editor

March 13, 2014

Dear Editor,

On Thursday, March 6, 2014, the Cedar Grove Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary organizations combined their efforts for an innovative event to support the scholarship funds of both groups. “Groovin’ at the Grove” featured the Blue Moon Revue musicians with dancing followed by a headliner show with the Amazing Kreskin, mentalist. The setting was the beautiful Cedar Grove catering hall, The Grove, with a dinner preceded by a wonderful cocktail and hors d’oeuvers session.

There was an extensive “tricky tray” display with gifts donated by local businesses and private citizens. Guests had an opportunity to meet old friends and make some new ones. The committee, spearheaded by Mr. Allen Rosen, Proprietor of Treasures Unlimited Jewelers and Chamber of Commerce President, and Mrs. Joyce Kazoun, Past President of the Cedar Grove Rotary and Assistant Governor for Rotary District 747, are most grateful for the support of all the patrons for this event. In addition we wish to thank our committee members.

The administration and staff of “The Grove” deserve kudos for an evening that will be remembered for months to come. Special thanks to Coqui Designs florist who donated centerpieces that added a beautiful ambiance to the room.

If you wish to continue helping to donate for the combined scholarship efforts of both of these groups, donations can be sent to Cedar Grove Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Box 007, Cedar Grove, New Jersey 07009. On the memo line of your check, please indicate that your donation is for both the Chamber and the Rotary.

We intend to make this successful unified endeavor an annual occurrence.

Upcoming events will be publicized in the Verona/Cedar Grove Times and on your local cable station and Channel 12 News.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Joyce Kazoun

Presidents Message

Is the economy turning around? Hard to say, especially looking at the vacant stores and buildings in Cedar Grove.

Some would say this town has a reputation as a difficult place to run a business. Maybe it’s time for that to change.

As the new President of the Rejuvenated Cedar Grove Chamber of Commerce, I can tell you that the response to the Chamber restarting has been overwhelming. Business owners are ready for an organization with their best interests at heart.

And we, the officers of the Chamber are ready and willing to get the ball rolling. Our goal is to work toward growth and sustainability in our business community.

We will work with the Mayor and Council, as well as our Town Manager, to do what is necessary to promote new businesses to move into town, as well as growing existing businesses. We will be the voice when once is needed to better our community.

Look for fun and interesting programs and promotions in the near future which will unite residents with the business community, all in the interest of building a stronger Cedar Grove.
